El Torero Restaurant
We proudly present El Torero Restaurant with their 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Michelbin Award. This unassuming, yet beautifully historic South Tucson spot has become a second home to us. Their hospitality is far reaching and deeply charming. This restaurant will not only nourish your soul with delicious food and drinks, but their sense of humor and humility is endearing and as addictive has their hot sauces. Come give these guys the love and support they deserve by filling up on some of the best Mexican, Asian inspired and vegan fare that Tucson has to offer.
Come here if you love surf n' turf burro scraps, deliciously charred carne asada and cheese crisps the size of your torso. We love the ease of access to the dumpster and the clear view of the mural by artist Danny Martin.
For our human friends, El Torero is a South Tucson institution that’s been family run since 1956. Chef Mikey and Jon behind the bar are an iconic 1-2 punch that ensures you will be provided for on all fronts. Together they create a rotation of delicious drink and food specials featuring their house made tinctures and hot sauces. On that note, if you request spicy, be prepared to receive the inferno. If you’re vegan or looking for more traditional Mexican fare, they more than have you covered and you won’t feel like an afterthought or leaving hungry. The building and back bar have endearing southwest charm and the staff is always lovely, friendly and welcoming. It was apparent after our first visit that we wanted to be regulars for life. We’ll more than likely be chilling at the bar, see you there soon!
